Possibly there has been an overreaction to Saturday's loss (and if so then I'm one of the guilty parties) but I think there is a reason behind it.

Many fans were dubious about Agar being appointed coach after Sharp got the bullet, and voiced those concerns on here. I was one of them. At the same time most of us hoped to be proven wrong.

Along comes this season and it looks like we were indeed mistaken. Five wins from five and while things weren't perfect we began to relax. The loss against Cas was really down to the players, but caused a minor flutter. Then along comes Saturday, looking like a repeat of last season, and all those concerns come flooding back. In spades.

FWIW I'm back where I started with Agar and Sharpe - unconvinced but hoping to be wrong. I certainly don't think that even contemplating a change of coach is sensible. We have what we have and all we can do is hope that Agar learns from the undoubted mistakes made and we kick on.

I'm not very optimistic. But then I'm a dyed-in-the-wool pessimist
anyway.

Thats what il be looking for.....how the hell we go from looking vet good attack wise V Bulls to totally inept v Cas and lets face it...a pi$$ poor Quins team who was there for the taking.

Agree 100%

I think Aar could do a lot better than say to Horne and Thorman "go out and play" and leave it at that for the Salford game, se what happens.

But but but what about 5 drives and a kick.........Its a shame Hall is a F/B as id love to see him pair up with Calderwood as he is our only centre who can put his winger away.

5 drives and a kick has Sharp written all over it, we've coached the skill out of too many players over the years.

My biggest bug bear from Saturday was the number of short suicide balls. Flat pass straight to someone to get hammered

hung drawn and quatered in 7 games with 2 losses..well well well...i wonder if mick potter has had the same effect on the saints forum??? or terry matterson on the cas forum??? jeeeeezus give the bloke a break its his first yr with his team not sharpys.im sure he will rectify his mistakes after all his tactics won hull 5 games and nearly 6 if mr tickle had had his kicking boots on so it would have been 1 loss in 7 games unfortunately danny didnt so we have to take it on the chin, other than the second half against quins i would be very happy with the results.

No, itsn't.

It's more of a "we hope we learn lessons" thread.

Ok good because there would be no need for a thread of that nature, Jeez after last season i'd have thought you'd be happy to be sat in the position you are in currently. You aren't going to be playing brilliant rugby week in and week out especially in bogs like that
