I don't want to sound as though I'm bagging Hansen but I really do see it as an attitude thing. In my opinion, I don't think he is fully applying himself nor do I think he currently has the ambition to stand out from the rest and have something unique about him.

And the reasons for the above, again in my opinion, is because since the arrival of Feka and Leuluai he seems to be close friends and enjoy the company of a couple of fellow kiwis/islanders and is content to hold on to a first team place rather than standing out, being different and have that bit of unique style about him. At the end of the day, he was raised in Swinton and played for Folly Lane from being 8 or 9 maybe younger and he came through all the ranks at Wigan, yet since the arrival of fellow, young islanders and the inclusion of the Samoa squad he seems to have distanced himself from his roots & many team mates and you sometimes forget that he came through those ranks with Wigan.

I think he's got caught up with the Islander Rugby League lifestyle and enjoys that more than his Rugby League. A drop down into the reserves away from his ''homies'' and replace them with the type of lads he actually grew up playing along side will do him a world of good and could get rid of abit of arrogance and instead replace it with more ambition and determination.

A pretty controversial and personal post but it's my opinion.

Don't be daft. A few good things doesn't make him immune from more than deserved criticism.

Mossop debuted in one of the Cup thrashings last year, scored a try too I think. Has he played a league game yet?

23 - 20 - 4

Warrington led 16-2 in Saturday's Grand Final, but their joy was short-lived as Wigan roared back to win the Super League title and extend the Wire's 58-year wait to be champions

You are not wrong there, I could even argue it's racist with those Islanders and their island ways.

He got a try and did really well against Pia
Got about 30 mins against Quins at home when we won 38-20 IIRC
Played in our drubbing by Leeds where he got a wee bit exposed as well :(

Indeed. Is this just you assuming or has something else led you to believe this?

Not how clue how you came to that conclusion. But what I meant is that most Islanders have proved theirselves in the NRL or NZ and have earned theirselves good, full time contracts in the UK and they aren't usually at risk of being dropped. I sometimes think Hansen likes act as though he has that type of background opposed to being a locally raised lad, playing Rugby League at Folly Lane and coming through the ranks at Wigan.

A good post Alex with plenty insight there.
The stats post by Bovrick is excellent and the case for dropping him is there.
My version is far more simple, last Friday we had only one prop who bust a tackle that I saw, Feka. We had only two forwards who bust a tackle, Hock plus Feka.
This is why our pack is coming off second best, we are simply not gaining the ground by busting the opposition forwards. We do not have competition for props as we only now have four with O'C injured.
We do have competition for places is the back row so start there.
Hansen to be replaced by one of the lads mentioned, perhaps two by standing Gaz Hock down. We are going to need Gaz big time v Saints & Cats.
Our real need are two props but unless we have signings we have to go with what we've got. Our back row could do with livening up so bring in Farrell, Mossop or Flanagan.
