That's the problem with percentage rugby. When its effective you get results when its not you get badly beaten and look pretty awful in doing so.

Paul we dont win with those tactics thats the point. We win when we throw the ball about and dont only play in the middle third of the pitch !
I know the conditions were poor but maybe we shouldnt have let it get to being 'a war of offiah' and should have played the entertaining, flowing rugby thats beat 3 out of last years top 6 teams already !
Apart from that you cant defend Agars Bench. That was one big fook up and im sure he now knows it. Whether he will learn from it we will have to wait and see.

We have not been badly beaten as yet (Derby looming  ) but I take your point.

Mate, I would love things to work for Agar as everyone deserves a chance. I just want to see improvements and no repeats of what I witnessed on Saturday. Again it wasnt the defeat it was the manner in which we were defeated !

just a crap system

wall-y, your obviously very passionate about the club, and particularly the way we play, or don't, we've never played an attractive/expansive game over the past 3 seasons, do we ever really look like putting 40/50 points on the board? its caution all the time, this squad just is'nt set up to play that way, or good enough, and i don't believe there's a coach in the world who could change it, Leeds and Saints are so far in front of the rest in taking 'risks ', but whereas other sides are going from strength to strength, we're stagnating, again.

Only game we have thrown the ball about is Bradford, the other games have been grind out wins, so we do win with those tactics.

If you play as badly as Salford did yesterday (long shot i know), there will be plenty of Hull fans running for cover on Good Friday

FWIW, i think its a tough one to call as are all derbies.

Sorry but I personally dont agree. We can and have showed signs of being able to play superb rugby. Yes we need to learn to finish off teams asap but we have shown signs its in there somewehere !

Agreed during the Hudds match I thought we showed some neat touches to be fair and only let the score close up when we relaxed..

but I think in reality everyone knows the problem , were all just hoping that RA & JS can see it too OR have the skill to alter it
If not this will be another hairy season

What a jolly thread. :)

Possibly there has been an overreaction to Saturday's loss (and if so then I'm one of the guilty parties) but I think there is a reason behind it.

Many fans were dubious about Agar being appointed coach after Sharp got the bullet, and voiced those concerns on here. I was one of them. At the same time most of us hoped to be proven wrong.

Along comes this season and it looks like we were indeed mistaken. Five wins from five and while things weren't perfect we began to relax. The loss against Cas was really down to the players, but caused a minor flutter. Then along comes Saturday, looking like a repeat of last season, and all those concerns come flooding back. In spades.

FWIW I'm back where I started with Agar and Sharpe - unconvinced but hoping to be wrong. I certainly don't think that even contemplating a change of coach is sensible. We have what we have and all we can do is hope that Agar learns from the undoubted mistakes made and we kick on.

I'm not very optimistic. But then I'm a dyed-in-the-wool pessimist anyway.
