He wasn't that good, i think people are getting carried away with his performance.
Apart from his drop-goal his kicking game was yet again diabolical, his defence was poor, coming in 3rd man on a guy who is already tackled doesn't count as good defence in my book.
His try was the easiest try he will score in his career, all he had to do was put the ball down over the line, Wolfette could have scored it.
He made a few breaks and gained some meters which i acknowledge he did well.
His creative ability was often shocking, slow run-a-rounds and suicide passes are not the trait of a world class half-back.
Yet again he was an average player in a poor team and he looked like a world beater.

So, not only was Brian Bevan simply average (for not getting international recognition - your theory anyway), Tony Smith talks crap as well...

LEGEND
We’ve waited too long for this day to come
Thirty thousand Wires standing as one
All travelling down, a sight to be seen
Man, woman and child sharing one dream
Tension in the crown as kick off draws near
Mixed emotions: excitement and fear
Restlessness as we huddle like cattle
Then Morley appears ready for battle
The rest of the team follow to fight to the death
The hooter sounds and we all hold our breath
Again the fans will have their own role
To sing and show passion deep from the soul
There may be times the players feel beat
Feeling too weak to achieve this huge feat
With their hopes and dreams they’ll look to the skies
To see a Primrose and Blue haze in front of their eyes
Then comes the roar; we never stop believing
This is one relationship we won’t be leaving
Cut us we bleed like everyone, that’s true
The difference being we bleed Primrose and Blue!

You seriously need to get a grip of yourself and stop putting spins on people's post's, it's pathetic.

Why? You said last week that if a player is worthy of international honours he'll get them? So, I simply stated that based on this theory Bevan was obviously not up to standard.
Now you are basically challenging the comments that the head coach has made after yesterdays game.
You obviously have issue with Briers, that is your perogative.
Your arguments are seriously flawed and definately blinkered...

I obviously mean of recent years, i cant pass comment on what happened 30, 40, 50 years ago .
Your Beven theory has no relevance to what was said.
