Research Aims and Objectives
There are two main research aims to accompany the title of this investigation, each providing two objectives. The aims and objectives as seen below are catered for throughout the study and can be identified within the review of literature, the methodology and the results/discussion sections alike where-by constant references are made back to the aims to provide evidence of how the intentions of the study are being addressed.
Aim (1) – To find out whether or not sponsorship within the RFL Super League will see any changes as a result of the introduction of the licensing system?
Objective (i) – Differentiate the short term and long term effects/changes upon sponsorship that the licensing system may have.
Objective (ii) – To investigate what sponsors look for and expect as a result of employing sponsorship (specifically within Rugby League).
Aim (2) – To discover what the Licensing system within the Engage Super League involves and in turn learn how it operates.
Objective (i) – Through the primary research carried out within this investigation, gain an inside view of the franchising/licensing system.
Objective (ii) – Look into what the franchise/licensing system can do for the future of Rugby League.

Yeah you'll struggle with that one, it's too early to judge and is heavily distorted by the economic downturn.

When are you doing it for? Next year?

Somehow, find another disseration that has been completed on RL and use that as a template for yours as it'll make it much easier for you.

write to a few clubs.....Celtic and Salford in particular to see if there has been any positive effects (companies in the past who ahve refused to sponsor, but now are), and Widnes for any negative effects i.e. have any companies said "we would have sponsored you if you were in Super League".

The clubs formerly at risk of relegation may be able to point to 3 year contracts they have signed with sponsors, where in the past they only did 12 month deals.

The economic downturn will definately skew the results though.

Aim 2 : better get it written and handed in quick before the goal poats are moved again. Maybe when you find out you could give it to the RFL?

Have you tried posting the subject of your dissertation on a popular Rugby League fans messageboard in the hope that someone else will do your work for you?

Im doing my dissertation on injuries in RL, and specifically, improvement in conditioning making players stronger and faster, and therefore increasing (or decreasing) the amount of injuries that occur.

the physio at leeds was meant to be helping me with this, however I have had no contact or replies from him for the past 3 weeks, and my dissertation is due in in 3 weeks, but currently asking for an extension.

Ive just wrote a letter to cas to ask if they can help now.

can anyone think of any studies that I would be able to do, that wouldnt require collecting results, i.e a review of something?

catalancs i assume your dissy is due early may? i finished my testing today nice and easy people on a treadmill happy days.

i would suggest you look at the effect of franchised licensings effects on other sports, as the season is only 6 weeks old you wont be able to draw any conclusion.

miss naughty you may want to look for a comparrison into injuries in rugby union since the legalisation of padding i believe it was from uni of edinburgh in 1999, it found that since the legalisation of padding in RU the injury rate went up 500%, you could use this to make refs to the removal of padding in SL to reduce the rate of injury.
