Hodgeson is one of the worst outside backs in super league ever....aspinwall and robinson are nothing more than average sturdy players....none of these three would get anywhere near the current side...pryce is a far better player than dodgy hodgy and he's in our reserves, smith likewise with robinson, goulding likewise with aspinall (yet all those players played in our reserves this week!!).
In terms of pure skill levels the majority of the players in our first team are far better than a number of those in the huddersfield side and the fact we got beat by yourselves, cas and wakefield is a damming indictment of our current coaching and fittness set up IMO.
TBH though anyone can motivate a bunch of brits to do well against australia....I could do that its easy.....austrailia pretty much do the job themselves with their arrogance and so the fact nobby can motivate GB stands for nothing in my eyes!
Likewise a team full of wiganers is easy to motivate to play for wigan. The problem comes when you try to motivate austrailian/ out of town journeymen to play for wigan, who to them we are just another club, who they play for to earn their crust - so who can blame them really?!! (with the exeption of Richards, Leuleui, Feka, and Carmont, who can really say any other of the aussie/ no wigan brit contingent are ever truely motivated and give their best?!?!).
IMO wigan need to do one of two things to sort the issue....either bring in a first class coach and motivator....who will get rid of the cr@p that doesnt want to play for wigan and doesnt give their all, or alternatively play a wigan team full of wigan players from one to seventeen, save for the abovementioned players who IMO are completely absolved from any critisism. IMO i would go with both of those options - those 4 'adopted wiganers', plus a wigan side, along with a true world class coach.....even if that team did lose every week at least theyd give their all, and things would slowly start to improve

People are getting fed-up not because of the defeats, but the manner in which we're losing or even getting the 2 points.
I'm with you in that if we had 17 lads playing for the shirt and giving it 100% the fans would at least see that and take some heart.
There are some deadwood players at the club and hopefully for a good few 2009 will be their last in cherry and white.

When you wanna take your Wigan tinted specs off and have a sensible conversation let us know.
Have a look at the league it does not lie.
I take on board that you have quality in your reserves but doesn't that tell you something when the 2nd rate aussies are keeping your young kids out!!!

I'll have a look at the end of season SL tables for the past 2 years to see how good Wild/Aspinwall/Robinson & Co were then!
