I agree. I would quite like to see Ratchford get a run out at stand-off, but don't for a second expect that to suddenly turn us into a top-eight side.

Smith is quickly becoming this season's Luke Dorn. Ratchford has done nothing so far to make me think he should be a first choice winger, nor has he shown enough to convince me that he should be the first name on the team sheet at 6.

Did anyone ever think that perhaps McRae is giving Smith some time to fit in at half back with Myler? How many games have they actually played together? In our last game we scored two tries - both scored by Myler, both made Smith.

so it seems that putting him under smiths wing might start to pay off the further along we go, and now that we have white back, they wont put ratchford on the wing he will probably stay in reserve

Thank God someone else said it. I think the lad has potential but that's about it at the minute, and I shudder to think how heavy the defeats might have been with a half back pairing as young as him and Richie up against experienced SL players every week.
