If things don't change pretty soon then this season could be a turing point as far as the fans are concerned.

Many will not return next season for more of this boring one dimesional rugby.

Quote from Graham Lowe - "I'm 49, I've had a brain haemorrhage and a tripple bypass and I could still go out and play a reasonable game of rugby union ......... but I wouldn't last 30 seconds in rugby league!"

he is happy to do this as WHILST he is happy to take the resposibility for our performances the players did it wrong......apparently!

Unofficially the most boring poster on Cherry and White.

We were, IMO. In fact, Huddersfield barely got out of their own half in the first 30 minutes.

23 - 20 - 4

Warrington led 16-2 in Saturday's Grand Final, but their joy was short-lived as Wigan roared back to win the Super League title and extend the Wire's 58-year wait to be champions

Exactly. Composure near the line and a bounce of the ball and we win.

Ged Byrne's Shammy wrote:Not sure where to start to be honest, watched our club for 40 years now, and I was 4 at my first match, and apart from what I have to say about the referee and his assistants............... shocking, unbelievably bad, the game was terrible, two not so good sides, we had enough chances in the first 30 minutes to put this game away, but we have little to no ideas in attack, very predictable, and Im sorry to say, boring, I was bored for most of the match, because I knew what was coming, both in defence and attack, in defence we tackled, poorly, and always seemed to fall back, 3 of us on one attacker, and they always seemed to fall forward, why, and in attack, we knew where the ball was going to go, and so did the Hudds defence, it seemed easy for them, and I guess it was.
Our club and Mr Lenegan need to be very very careful now, we have been up then down, and I for one will always follow them, but I expect the effort and the tactics to be put in place by the coaching staff to compete, but I have never seen a stadium empty with distgruntled fans as quick as I did tonight, ok it was a shocking night, freezing, but a lot of these people are not season ticket holders like us, and are unlikely to come back if we don't start to show something, and this needs to start with passion, commitment, will to win and pride, we showed little to none of any of these tonight, we are a mile behind most teams in the league in this respect as we speak, and I for one am worried, Mr Lenegan, if you are a businessman as you say you are, think about your business, are you happy, have you got the right people in your team to make it succesfull, have they got the attitude and motivation to live and breathe it, and have you got the managers to drive it with the neccesary skills and respect, if you can't say yes to these, and validate them, then think about what you are going to do to put it right, and make some hard ball decisions.

That's enough for now!!

Can't disagree with this......

It's the boredom factor which, of all these, is the one which concerns me most. I've been going to Wigan for nearly 25 years, and was never bored once in any of the first 22 of them. However, in the past couple of years, with the odd exception, the matches have been routinely dull. I could cope better with losing if we were at least entertaining - but we're never going to attract 'floating' fans to come out on a freezing cold evening with the lifeless cr@p that we served up after the 1st 10 mins last night.

I remember matches racing by in the past, but last night I looked at the scoreboard & couldn't believe they'd only played 15 mins of the second half - felt more like 25. In my view, IL & Noble need to sort this out quick - they'll always get people like us coming back, but, as Matty pointed out, when you do the maths it's only really season ticket holders turning up now.

Unfortunatly the ref is the only one he can blame as he is not going to hold his hands up and say "it`s me"is he? He`s past his sell by date outdated style of play.

YOU CAN LEARN FROM THE PAST BUT NOT RELIVE IT.YOU CAN HOPE FOR THE FUTURE BUT CAN NEVER BE SURE THERE WILL BE ONE.

Average attendances:

2007 - 16,039
2008 - 14,504
2009 - ?

Well after 4 home games we are averaging 12,679

Very worrying indeed...especially when we see Quins, Celtic and Catalans have to come yet, they will also be empty North Stands!

You're still looking at an average of 12k when you consider that no side have brought that many yet. In the current economic climate and the fact that the game will more than likely be sh*te - that's pretty good.

String some form together (this is the tough bit) and have away followings from Saints, Leeds, Hull KR and Warrington and we'll be close to last years target easily.
