surely cant be anything to do with being beaten by the better team.

Option 1
Wigan beat saints by a good 10 points and Wigans season takes off
Option 2
Wigan are out played (like against leeds) and are beaten by 20-30 points and our season continues how it is
Option 3
Wigan run saints close and lose by 2-6 points and we think Wigan will then kick on - but don't
Option 4
Wigan start poorly again like last night. Bombing rare chances, losing possession and giving penalties away in their own half. We are 20 down at half-time and finish losing by 40-50 points.

Isn't that the same as Option 2 (more or less)?

i think you will win on thursday, we will be knackered after playing leeds
in the 5th round of the cc plus only 4 day turn around as well, we cant win em all can we or can we
for 27 - 0 wigan get a tin pot trophy
for 75 - 0 wigan get total humiliation
To me it seems to depend entirely on the first 10 mins - if we score early we're likely to develop confidence, but if Stains get a couple of early tries, I fear what confidence we have will disappear, and we'll get mullerred again.
Last night we moved the ball around quite well, but when we didn't score we then seemed to revert to the 5 drives & a kick rugby mentioned on another thread.

Doubt it, Wigan have looked poor this season, Bradford game aside. Beating Barrow is no real achievement and also coming off the back of a SL defeat to Hudds, I don't think we'll have too much of a problem.
