Two. Very poor indeed.
Soley rely on other teams Academies to recruit year after year..!!
Brett Hodgson - Aus
Martin Aspinwall - Wigan Michael Lawrence - Huddersfield Paul Whaturia - New Zealand
David Hodgson - Hull via Wigan / Salford
Kevin Brown - Haydock via Wigan
Luke Robinson - Halifax via Wigan / Salford
Keith Mason - Dewsbury via Saints & Cas

Darrell Griffin - Oxford
Jamahl Lolesi - New Zealand
Stephen Wild - Wigan Simon Finnigan - Warrington
Eorl Crabtree - Cleethorpes

opinions...?
He has not missed many high balls last night was a bit of an exception had a bad night i would rest him against Barrow give him a week off he looked a little tired last night. He is only young and is not fully used to playing at Super league standard so maybe he is feeling it a little give the lad a rest for a week

Andy Raleigh was from Hull KR
Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid. Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal. Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.

Like Crabtree who is a local lad too.
8/10 for effort, minus several million for getting the point.
I wasnt having a go at Wigans academy programme, but the mindnumbingly stupid way in which the talented young players are cast off in favour of second rate bread stealers looking to build on their pension
This was true under the previous regeime, who effectively left our pay structure bolloxed!
3-4 players on megamoney, whilst the majority were on lower wages, plus over the cap 2 years running!
We've had to improve our playing squad this season (and last) with some low paid players on short term contracts to allow us to improve contracts elsewhere to achieve balance, but they are still not there yet (Fielden / Bailey).
Like I said, we've seen enough of Ainscough, Sam Tomkins, Joel Tomkins, Paul Prescott to know that these are the new breed and mistakes that have been made in the past will not be repeated.
Our chairmans vision is to see a top class team made up of:
8-10 Top Class Local Lads.
3-4 Top Class UK Players
3-4 World Class Imports.
With 1-2 Local lads making the first team squad year on year on a rotating basis.
A similar structure to when we were successful back in the 90's.

Yes and that's why the current board have stated that our young players will not be going anywhere at the expense of aging aussies. Keep up at the back will you.

SO why are so many Wigan fans desperate to find someone new to sign?
Hey, I hope you do keep your young kids, local kids playing for their home club is what its about, while we had 4 local lads in our team last night, there are as many again on the fringes, last week agaisnt quins we had 5 or 6 and its the way ahead for all clubs.
