Given that before the season started a lot of people were just hoping for a year of consolidation. Our start and based on what we have seen this year so far is anyone quietely confident of a better season than they had first hoped?

Confident? No. I've been following FC too long for that.

More optimistic? Yup. Just a little.

I think getting into play offs would have been great season but after opening fixtures where we've been winning whilst still nowhere near playing smoothly or at our peak, I expect us to be top 4. Balance how well we've done without washbrook, raynor, king, tony, whiting, byrne, burnett plus 2 to come from overseas (fingers crossed) I think we have possibly the strongest squad around which will pay dividends come the business end of the season when the prizes are handed out.

Still settle for the 8, unconvinced as yet.

Optimism is not a trait usually found on these boards but i agree, cautiously optimistic but i don't see if we avoid injuries any reason why we can't finish 3rd.

For me it depends on how we bounce back tonight.

Another loss and we will be at risk of losing sight of the top teams and losing our winning momentum.

A win and we bounce back from a set back last week and we're still on track for a good season.

Certainly a much better start than I feared and maybe my prediction of 7th/8th is looking a little low now but a hell of a lot will depend on Hame settling in and doing well and Crocker getting here (or a top drawer replacement)

The hard work and spririt has been there for all to see but it can soon fade with a couple of disappointing results.

Get the two big guys on a plane asap and I think that we'd have a good chance of top four. Without them it would be a long hard season and sprit and hard work can only achieve so much.

THANK YOU Mr. PEARSON, FOR RIDDING US OF FCKWIT FUBAR, CEO TOOL AND THE STINKING UNCLE KATH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHY DON'T THE DOBBINS PLAY IN GREEN SHIRT, GREEN SHORTS AND GREEN SOCKS IN ORDER TO EXPRESS THEIR INFINITE ENVY OF EVERYTHING BLACK AND WHITE??
