When we scored in the second half I was convinced we would kick on and win this game but as the clock ticked down you could just sense Hudds scoring late on to snatch it at the death...........no suprise there then :(

I don't think we played that badly just too many errors but i'm so used to that now that it now means I'm only p1ssed off Friday night not all weeked like I was in the past .

I thought so too. The two tries at the end came as no surprise to me at all.

The scoreline flatters Hudds somewhat but make no mistake, the best team (and the best coach) won on the night.

'Do you remember when we had that meeting in Orlando? We talked about how we were knocked out the previous year by Leeds. And at the end, I asked you one question. "Do you want to be a semi-final team? Or do you want to do something special?" You all said you wanted to win. But talking is easy – it needed you to believe. It needed you to work hard – harder than you had – and make sacrifices. You did all that. you worked for each other. You stuck together when it was tough. And because of your efforts, you sit here tonight as champions. I'm proud of you. Be proud of yourselves. You've done something special.'

Our execution was not as good at times as it should have been, neither was our patience. They got to the end of the field and just kicked a bit better than us. We were a whole lot closer than the score suggests, I thought at 8-10 we would have gone on and won it but a couple of things went against us."

Is this the ultimate deflection?

Remove "whilst" and it sounds genuine, include "whilst" and again he seems to be diverting the blame. Or is that just me?

I agree 100% with what Noble says there (must be a first  ). Our kicking game was rubbish tonight, but on the whole I didn't think it was all that bad. It was a good arm-wrestle. Fielden's reaction after their first try would suggest it wasn't grounded, it looked very dubious on the replay. I'm still amazed that their 2nd try was given, looked a blatant knock on to me

23 - 20 - 4

Warrington led 16-2 in Saturday's Grand Final, but their joy was short-lived as Wigan roared back to win the Super League title and extend the Wire's 58-year wait to be champions

"Whilst I take responsibility for what we do" - Good lets hope IL see's it like that and sacks him.

"We need to be going a bit better." - master of understatements.

How on earth does that equate to things getting better? What is wrong with the fans of one of the best supported clubs having high expectations?

The high expectations we all have are no longer being achieved by what is a very average side.

If we lower our expectation then we won't be disappointed after results like last nights.

Simple, no?

The thread title nicely sums up most of the posts I have read on this thread so far.

Out of interest, what were the excuses last season when Huddersfield put 30+ points on you?

I've seen them 3 times now. They use exactly those tactics each week.

3 times in how many years?

Clearly you werent watching agaisnt Quins, or Cas, or Bradford, or Castleford, or Catalans, or Hull, or Saints

Try watching how Wigan play sometime, you might be surprised at the amount of laying on, offsides, obstructions etc that go on.

Clearly this season shag. Against Hull & Castleford, they applied the exact same tactics as last night. Ask Terry Matterson if he agrees with the way Hudds play.
