Why doesnt the RFL introduce a representitive game such as England V World select XIII series or even reintroduce the Yorks V Lancs series, and by world i mean imports in super league and the french players. Wouldnt this expose the players to more games of better quality? Of course i could be utterly wrong on this but i am curious as to why it isnt really considered.
I also had a look at the wikipedia section on the Roses matches and the attendances seem quite poor, why is this as i thought a Roses clash would attract more people?

England Vs World Select XIII - No, it would be an embarresmant, we'd get hammered.
Lancashire Vs Yorkshire - Yes, we need something to rival State of Origin and a bit or representative rivalry.

How about Yorkshire v Lancashire for championship and championship one club players. Thay have less fixture congestion and fans at that level would probably be more interested in watching the game. Case for including Cumbria too.

The England V world XIII was a stab in the dark, but i did actually think the best imports + the french against would be quite even given the imports dont exactly run away with it the weekly fixtures. Dobson for Rovers is the only who really stands out consistently in my opinion.
But yes we definitely need a representitive series and Yorks V Lancs would be the best, even though the nos of SL games would probably have to cut to accomodate it, but i think that should happen anyway.

I like the idea of the roses games being resurrected, maybe played midweek to avoid scrapping a weekend of super league games. Maybe look at a rule of having to select a certain number of players from the championship to generate more interest.
Plenty of players in the nrl play origin and then play for their clubs the same weekend so I don't see why our players, who are supposedly as fit as the Aussies would struggle.

I disagree with that bit to be honest. The whole point of more rep. games is to have players playing more a larger amount of intense games, so it should be the best players elligible. Lancashire & Yorkshire may work if it is given time to be built up, we either need to do it consistently for 10 years or so, or not do it at all.

You need to watch a few more games I think.
Berrigan, Webb, Leuluai,Manu, Gene, Obst, that guy at Cas with the tattoos and dodgy beard whos name escapes me, etc etc etc.
Would be a good idea to have rest of the world team though as I feel that some imports who were once internationals but can no longer represent their countries may well be inspired to raise their standard and not take the cash and run. I am thinking about players such as King at wire who is clearly here for the cash and is totally unmotivated. ( just an opinion having watched him and read what wire fans feel )

I agree. also if it were to be done it wouldnt be an immediate hit on or off the field, but the right promotional work and common sense stadium selection it has great potential.
