I love the way on the concourse at half-time they look at you, blank-faced, with not a single pint pulled in readiness as if to say "where the hell did you lot all come from? One minute, no customers and the next a mad-rush. What sort of pub is this?"
And
every week before the match they're still training the
brand-new staff before you get served. Last week my pal asked for a napkin. The young lad serving (not a local lad) said "yes sir. What flavour?"
