I don't think it would make any difference to be honest! The powers that be have made this club what it is and they've suggested they will be at the promised land for far too often. To be a Salford fan you have to put up or shut up as there isnt a solution as far as I can see.
this will not be the end, or even the beginning of the end.
It is merely the end of the beginning
Who would you bring in there is no one available i agree he aint a good coach but there aint anyone good enough to replace him in the job at this moment in time so we are stuck with him

I can't say I always agree with getting rid of a coach when a team starts to play poorly as in a great many respects it is the players who are at fault.
But for me we have played poorly for a great deal of lastseason aswell, at times in NL1 we struggled and the excuse that we were every teams cup final doesnt wash with me.
I actually would see if Mcrae was better at Simms job and get in new head coach, I can't see any great new British talent coming through so you again have to look down under and Ricky Stuart is the name that springs most to mind other than that maybe Wayne Bennett if he could be persuaded to come, the coach we appoint this time again has the squad prepicked so his handsare tiedfor a season and with the no relegation he has a certain luxury (Bennett for me is the 1st choice as look at some of the incredibletalent has unearthed in Australia).
A benefactor needs to befound o givea good coach a good salary and not resort to the need for him to be a sidekick on Sky in Mcraes case or the BBC in Robbie Palus case.
I doubt any of this will happen.

LOOK this first season back in Super league is all about learning and with no threat of relegation I firmly believe we should all get behind our head coach McRae and let him get on with the job.

Perhaps fan power is the answer this season. The club have already capitulated to fan power twice this season. 1st with the shirt and then with Alker. Both wrong options IMO.
My question is if it could work who would take over? Theres no one of real quality who would 1- take the job, 2 - we could afford.
Lets face it at the moment we need to be a little more realistic on what our expectations for the season should be. Some of the neanderthals in the shed need to open their eyes to the real situation. SL is a whole different kettle of fish from when we were last here.

If this was football he would have gone ages ago, and it wouldn't have mattered how much it would have cost, because if the manager is costing you money and stopping you from progressing further, and not wining, and pottentially losing your players confidence, and not gaining any more fans, i mean there giving away tickets for christs sake, how many more signs do you need to show you that this club needs to take drastic steps now, before its to late before this club ends up back in NL1, after being give the chance to grow iinto the club that it should be, i know we have three years, but if we keep saying that then where just going to be throwing money away, and letting the rot get an even better hold of the club than it already has, we need somebody i dont know who so dont ask me, to get a hold of this team and undo the mess mcrae has made, your gonna say but the managment has something to do with it, yes but its mcrae who says who goes were and who plays on match days.
you starting a petition i'm on it

I dont actually worry that SM is a bad coach I worry that his tacticle nowse is not what it should be, he seems hell bent on being totally rigid with his use of the forwards - look at Cashmere he is actually asking for more game time as he thrives on it, look at the weather and conditions he is usedto playing in and contrast with whatwe have at the moment and if anything he wants to keep on the pitch to keep warm.
No for SM would do a much better job upstairs, I know this will get me ridiculed but I think that at some point Goulding will become a quality coach and the notion of Hanley being approached just came to me.
