Interesting that.

Good cheap shot effort from Scullie. Poor execution really. Only landed 2 out of 3 on a static Bailey. Good first right, poor second and then a cheeky left hand ding. But what should also be noted, is that even after those flurry of shots, who was still standing? That's right, The Most Feared Man In Super League. Yeah he felt the big right hand, but was still standing. He took the cheap shot like a man. Imagine the fan-fare if it was the other way round. Jesus!!

5,912 to be precise.

Scullie knew how to fight and was a physical presence, I'll give him that. Shame his body wasn't as willing as his mind.

Sculthorpes body was willing at 17 to carry an entire Warrington pack for nearly a year. Sculthorpes body was willing to carry a Saints pack for nearly two years.

Sculthorpe's body took more hammer in ten years than most of us will ever take in our whole lives. It's hardly surprising it eventually just said "Paul, enough already" and stopped working.

An underappreciated legend IMHO.

A bit OTT in my opinion but certainly a SL legend.

Between Bennetts, Stankevitches, Mauries, Fozzards, Andersons (Paul and Vinnie) and Cayless' injuries and at the time an emerging Graham and Wilkin I should say that before his last shoulder injury Sculthorpe was doing the lions share of the work for the Stains pack for vast amounts of two seasons.

His history of injuries: shoulders, knees, shoulders, etc is amazing. He has spent a hell of a long time on the sidelines, and when it's considered that at one point he was a world record transfer, you have to wonder if he represented good value for money. Then on top of that you had his huge salary, I don't think (epecially in more recent times) he was value for money. When he was on the top of his game, there was no doubting him. But finding a fit Sculthorpe was another matter. He was called the 'New Farrell', but Faz was hard as, and even littered with injuries he would still show up. Sculthorpe wasn't in the same league, doesn't mean he wasn't good I suppose. Then look at Scullies international career, he was selected for about 10 years, and how many games did he manage? Guys like Morley and Peacock (propr forwards) who have worked just as hard in their career, and maybe even harder, and who's bodies have taken more abuse, what's their secret?

We had 2, maybe 3 good seasons out of him IMO

Make that 7, his last three were troubled by injury, but an inspired sub against Brisbane showed the real class of this guy, who could play in the backs as well as the pack...

Who bailey? there are at least 3 players at leeds alone that are harder than bailey! peacock could arguabley hold that title (definatley in the top 2 for me) but peacock wouldnt even break sweat dealing with bailey.
