There are tens of thousands of Leeds Rhino fans who would subscribe to Setanta if they could be guaranteed the regular telecast of either Wests Tigers or Sydney Roosters matches, so that they can follow the progress of Gareth Ellis and Jordan Tansey.

The failure of Setanta to provide three NRL matches a week makes this Leeds fan surveillance most unlikelỵ.

I've emailed, I begrudge paying £12.99 for 2 games, so I'm really pi55ed off with this news.

With the loss of games in the Premiership a lot of people will be revoking their subscription i feel and they cant rely on Magners League and IPL within England as they arent widely watched so that could be an explanation

Well if this is all they will provide then one is well within their rights to go online and seek other avenues to view the NRL.

Apart that is from within law where there is no such right. And so consequently the AUP where anyone who wished to test it will find themselves asserting their right to use other web sites.

That warning not specifically aimed at you, Boris, but I am sure anyone who it does applies to knows who they are.

gutterfax wrote:alas...."invitation to treaty", not trades description.

Cannot see how that would apply. You cannot make an invitation to treat for something you do not have to offer. If anything protects Setanta is would be the contract which would no doubt allow them to change their offering.

They are a season and a bit early then as they do not lose any games until the 2010-2011 season.

I'll be cancelling as well. Got a new Freeview box with three months at half-price, and thought "that's me sorted for the NRL and Origin games, but didn't realise that they don't start broadcasting on Freeview until mid-day.

Ferocious Aardvark wrote:I have spoken to Setanta and they came up with some very lame sounding story that they are giving 'priority' to the Magners league until it finishes which is, apparently, first week in May.

After that they say they will show more NRL (they have the rights to show up to 3 live games).

They said that?Muppets.Didn't realise the Magners League now kicked off same time as the NRL!

Very pi$$ed about this especially as I'm paying the normal £12.99 and an extra £2.99 for multi-room so just fired off an email to them and will be cancelling if they don't change things soon-doubt they'll respond though.Talk about being ripped off.

So only you know you have the secret?

i cant beleive this, and their excuse seems lame given that the magners league doesnt remotely clash with the NRL and during the day they mostly show reruns of football or the stupid football review shows. I wont be cancelling my subscription because i watch college footy and ice hockey but i will be emailing them about this.
