In the last few games of last season our bench had the most impact on the game than it has in years. That was when Fecka and Hock both came on together. I was expecting it to be the same this year after its success last year.

To be honest, it's only praise to Hock if we all can't decide if we want to start him from the start or from the bench.

At first I was leaning towards Hock as impact from the bench, but is also important that we have impact from the kick off. And with Feka starting on the bench who in the starting 13 has more impact than Hock? Fielden, Hansen, Lockers or Joe? I don't think so.

Team for Hudds...

1 Richards
2 Goulding (Something unexpected, but I have my reasons)
3 Bailey
4 Carmont
5 Ainscough
6 Tomkins.S
7 Tommy
8 Stu
9 Pigs
10 Prescott
11 Hock
12 Lockers
13 Joel
---------------
Feka, Hansen, McClorum, Coley

I agree. I dont think that either should be in the 17 based on their performances so far.

Know what you mean but we don't need to smash somebody in the first 10 minutes. Watch Hock in defence, see how many times Tommy saves him on that left side.We need to contain them, keep them out and build on a solid start.

I've thought for a while that the only position Goulding could carve a decent career for himself at Wigan would be winger as he just doesn't seem to have the game sense or skill to play at centre but even then only as back up and no way should he be picked ahead of Roberts, Ainscough, Richards or even Pryce.

Goulding on the wing would be an exact replica of what Aspinwall was - solid but unspectacular.

Roberts and Ainscough are Wigan's two wingers anyway - and that's for the long term.

I doubt if he has the pace to be winger at all

I would love to see Hansen and Lockers as our starting 2nd row with Hock doing a round robin with Tompkins at 13. with this we would have two of (IMO) the best defensive players in the league either side of the ruck, with two very good attacking players roaming the park on the attack. again Hock coming of the bench against knackered defenders
