Not seen anything on this board yet about this but there are some / a few noises that he could be on his way out of Warrington.. even if only on loan till the end of the season.

I know we are well stocked in the backs with Duffy, Webster and Thackray, but we've seen that Duffy could possibly play at loose forward or even rotate with Smithy at hooker and whilst I think that Thackray looks decent is that good enough to pass up on having a player like Lee Briers..

Taking his reputation for liking a pint aside for the minute.. Warrington have struggled and Briers has taken some of the flak for this, but there was a bit of a saying not so long ago in Warrington 'No Briers, no win.' By all accounts he also had a decent game at the weekend coming off the bench to score one and set-up two other tries. He also hasn't had a decent foil since Nat Wood left and Chris Bridge had his (errrm!!) problems. Monaghan hasn't exactly set the club alight since his arrival.

He would certainly liven up this league in the way that Brough did last year and has the nous to open up defences. He has worked, and often worked well, with Cullen before.

I know we are short of forwards / reportedly close to the cap but if there were solutions to these problems in the offing then I would welcome Briers here.
FWIW.. I think that having a player like Briers also offsets the issue with the forwards a little too..
less trying to barge over from 5 yards and more clever play,
more 40 - 20's to relieve the territorial pressure and
a decent 1 point kicker when scores are tight.

No. God no.

A talented footballer on the pitch, a really really bad influence off it. If we want the wrong culture at our club he is the way to go.

You would have to lose someone first as you are maxed on your salary cap.

Or you could take the coach that let that culture start at Wire and make him your head coach.

The rumours of him starting a drinking culture at Warrington? can anyone confirm this as true?

The fact is he is a gifted rugby player who can open up the best defences so in this division lets face it he would be top drawer. I have always admired Lee Briers as a player and often called for him in the past to represent GB (when it was GB). I have heard Cullen on Boots n all this year saying they are using him on the opposite side of the field to where he played him and he is having a far worse year than he's had previous with the Wolves. A controversial cheeky little player with a very good kicking game and excellent hands. Also heard Cullen once describe him as the most gifted player in Super League.

Would i have him at Widnes?

In a shot.

Love a brew.

This has been our problem for years. Instead of building a well balanced squad, we go out and buy players because we think they are good, so we end up with a squad full of quality forwards and a rubbish backline or a a good good backline, but with no decent halfbacks or a team full of halfbacks and back rowers but no weight and experience in the props.

WE DO NOT NEED LEE BRIERS!!!!!!!!!

All we need is a couple of big yard dogs at prop, and the 4 halfbacks we already have will have a platform to show what they can actually do. LB is notoriously poop when he plays alongside a beaten pack, so he'll be a f*****g useless waste of space and salary cap here!

It's not just the drinking aspect that is a problem with LB's social life either. I'll say no more than that.

Little Pepe went to nursery school one day wearing his Widnes hat. His teacher asked him why he was a Widnes fan. He said, “Because my parents are.” His teacher said, “That’s not good. What would you do if your parents were drug dealers and hookers?” He replied, “Well then I would be a Warrington fan.”

There's a Wooly over there, baggy kecks and feathered hair
with a 3 star jumper half way up his back, that’s a fecking Wooly back!

Oooh-to… Oooh-to-be… Oooh-to-be-a… WOOLY!
