I don't know about the rest of you but I almost envy Warrington. I can understand why their fans are unhappy at the moment but as a Trinity fans you have to wish that a poor start to the season was all we had to worry about.

Despite riding high in the league with what IMHO is the best team we have had at BV for 25 years it's still not easy being a Trinity fan.

The Stadium is still a thorn in our side and no matter what else we do it hangs over us ready to kick us in the teeth at any moment. Currently I have taken a bit of a back seat SWAG wise out of choice, luckily others are still persisting and fighting our corner. Personally I've dipped out of it because I felt there was little I could do personally so why not just enjoy turning up and enjoying the game for a bit until I could help out again. It is after all meant to be fun!

That's probably what most of us really want, an enjoyable sunday away from the stresses of real life. But without sounding too self pitying that clearly isn't the Trinity way. As TRB often says supporting Trinity is never easy but even he would not have expected to this hard.

I think what has left many of us numb is the relentless and severe nature of our problems even ignoring the uncertainty around our long term future. The death of legends like Toppo and Don Fox are not good things but they had a life. Even though Adam life was cut far too short even he left a legacy. Leon Walker had very little time to leave anything. You could argue all these things happen daily even to those as young as Leon, but rarely do they happen to the same people all the time - or maybe they do life is a bitch like that.

Even our injury crisis is beyond the norm in that rather than being random it almost seems targeted. Every week seems more challenging and daunting than the last, just how long can any team sustain such rates of attrition, especially one with such limited resources. Five props out, one sadly departed, one with a life threatening illness, two with long term injuries and another with a condition that continually undermines his general well being. OK Trinity signed him knowing this but I doubt anyone expected to have two players battling long term ailments.

We can feel sorry for ourselves, I like most people indulge in self pity every now and then. I like most people also know it does no good and the only answer is to get on with it. It is also just a game or it was until it started to get this personal.

I/we need to offer our support and I'm sure we will to all involved at the club in there thankless task of getting 25 shell shocked mainly young men to get on with it. I take my hat off to them as I'm not sure I could do it. Yet they are tasked with turning something that after last sunday appears meaningless into something meaningful.

The Coaches and Players in particular are in a terrible position. They are career sportsman and need to keep playing and earn a living like we all do. Yet unlike the rest of us the also have the hopes of thousands hanging on there ability to pull themselves together and make them feel better.

Oh for RL to be just about the best team wins, how nice that would be. I live in hope that luck will hit Trinity like London buses and it all comes at once but I won't hold my breath. Of course it won't bring people back or cure the sick but it would be a start.

So to all Trinity folk, players, staff and fans take care and carry on.

Good post. I think that what has happened to the club just makes us stronger and more determined.

I have sensed that a bond exists between the club, coach, players and the fans and what has happened to Leon & Adam just increases the bond.

Expectations of following Wakey are also not high and to be honest most of us will settle for a play-off place and a good cup run.

I suspect that this season, with our continued strength, and yes a little luck, may surprise us and we will end the season having both pride in how we play and the club itself. Good news about the ground will be the icing on the cake.

Onwards and upwards!!

This Friday will be a difficult game for all concerned.

What must the Saint's players be thinking, I know these are professional players, but they have emotion's & i can't image any team would put their hand up to come & play us at home on Friday.
