I agree with Mr Frisk..

Lenegan has said all along 2010 would be our big year. We still have too many average players on big wages for us to do anything this year.

We are a better side now than we have been for a while but we still have some improving to do before we can say we have a realistic chance of winning something.

I think you'll also find that most fans - except apparently you - recognise the many reasons for our once-in-a-lifetime dominance of the late 80s early 90s,......

Careful! It has been a mantra of all and sundry to say we only dominated back then because we were the only full time team when in fact we only went full time in the 91/92 season.

I happen to think we dominated for far more positive reasons than the cliché of we only bought our success.

For example I think the club back then did many things off the pitch better than it does now e.g. compare how the club handled Tuigamala's lack of fitness compared to Feka's.

Radlinski's book is out soon and someone over on Mike's site has been proof reading it and they have mentioned he goes on about how the clubs ethos changed for the worse over the years he was there. I shall definitely be buying a copy!

I think we need to sort these sorts of things out and if we did then we would be far better than we are with the current set of players never mind in 2010 or later.

There is a tendency from some of our own fans to belittle our achievements back then as a way to defend where we are now. Not accusing you of this at all but I reckon I have seen people do so on occasion (probably unknowingly).

Dave

If we think back to Wigan's halcyon days then it soon becomes obvious that todays best two teams Leeds & Stains are just average.
The rest of SL including us are very much less than average.
Following the World Cup at least SKY's tv team have stopped talking about world class players. The WC squad was made up largely of Leeds and Stains players and they proved that we are way behind the NRL.
We are not a good team this year and we have a pack that most weeks comes off 2nd best.
The pack and mainly the front row should have been Lenagan's priority when he bought the club. At Bradford Noble proved that if you give him the pack he wants he will win you trophies.
Until they sort out the pack they are whistling in the wind - so's to speak!

I'm not so sure about that bit, FT. The other night, Sinfield missed a conversion and Eddie the Idiot said: "Oh, so he's mortal after all."

Mwhahahahahahahah

Sinfield ... is mortal after all?

Just off the top of my head, I can think of several GB loose forwards of relatively recent times who wouldn't have lowered themselves to wipe their a***s on Kevin Sinfield: Hanley, Faz, Clarkey, Sculthorpe ... I'm sure there are more if we can be bothered taking time off work to really give i thought.
