I'm born and bred wiganer league is in my blood..But i'm not going to say sorry for liking international Union. for me theres no more passionate scene in world sport than the millenium stadium in full voice singing there national anthem.

My grandfather is Irish so i have a passion for the country and its people..i enjoyed the game yesterday and without shame i cheered when o'gara kicked the drop goal.

Give me League anyday of the week. but i enjoy the international side to union. maybe because i like to see passion and pride. As a league man its a crying shame we dont have anything close.

BTW O'driscolls a class act

the difference being that league is all about what is on the pitch.
the game was poor and will sadly be romanticised due to that drop goal.

a meaningful international fixture list and more competitive games would go some way to putting that right in rugby league.

Deleted cos now's not the time for bile. RIP Leon.

Conroy - Being a Latics fan i'm already immune to watching sh*te.

Sally Cinnamon - Treat the Saints forum as you would if you met a girl from St Helens. Best policy would be to avoid altogether but if you absolutely can't resist temptation then take every possible precaution.

Appallingly sour article in The Times if you ask me from as bigoted an old fart as you would likely encounter on a long day's march.

Still, interesting but odd that the propagation of Rugby in Ireland was seen as some sort of Protestant conspiracy .....whereas we in Wigan appear dependent upon the "Catholic Mafia" to ensure the continuity of Rugby (albeit League) in our schools !........

I have only just come into this issue and only read 20/30 posts. I know I will be vilified but RU has come on massively since they went professional. They are now professional in everything, their crowds are up their internationals are what they are (we should admire them for what they do not be so bigoted), at each international match they got as many as the total crowds at League.

Also just watch now the qualtiy of passing and movement and technical play I accpet that in some phases RL is better but in handing and passing they are where we were 10 years ago. Passing in English RL is becoming a forgotten art, behind the player on his knees straight in touch. They also have better manners than we do which is a disgrace to our sport, do they boo the anthems, I have heard our fans boo even at Wigan which frankly makes me ashamed?

Union has moved on we have gone backwards.

Finally got to the article mate; was interesting. Looks like the article was written by the Irish equivalent of a flat-capper.
