Smith pushed out at him for Gilmour trying to rip his face off.
That's rugby today.....that's justice in Superleague and that's justice in the other leagues.
On the other hand anyone who gets sent off leaving his team short for most of the match is an idiot and deserves everything that comes his way.
I'm going to keep tabs on sin-binnings and sendings-off in Superleague and the two other divisions.....because I believe the two lower divisions are getting a raw deal.
Either that or discipline genuinely is worse.
Interesting decisions last week;
Super League:
Chris Thorman, Hull FC (v Bradford) High and grapple tackle - No charge.
Jamahl Lolesi, Huddersfield (v Castleford) High tackle - No charge.
Darrell Griffin, Huddersfield (v Castleford) Grapple / Choking tackle - No charge.
Craig Huby, Castleford (v Huddersfield) High tackle - Penalty sufficient.
Championship:
Taani Lavulavu, Whitehaven (v Gateshead) High Tackle -
2 match ban.
