If the capacity figures were known, set and clear then everybody would know their stance.
The capacity set at the start of the season was 4,500 I think. This is more than ample for all Championship clubs (bar Widnes). The club are doing everything they can to get up to the 6,300 mark so more tickets will be available.
Increasing the capacity costs money as there are things that need to be put in place and people that need to be available/trained-up. At the start of the season I would say there was a 100/1 chance that we would draw a team in the Challenge Cup that would mean a crowd of more than 4,500. That 100/1 chance has happened. It certainly wasn't worth spending all the money required to increase the capacity on the off-chance that we MAY get Wigan or Saints at home in the Cup.
So do you want Barrow to stick with the 4,500 capacity, or try and get it raised.?
Spending money that didn't need to be spent would be unprofessional and foolish for a Championship club. Believe me, Barrow are a very professionally run club. An unprofessional club would repeatedly break the salary cap and sell it's ground to Tesco.
But that would never happen at a Super League team would it ?
