great reslt without really having to do owt special.
Our forwards batterd em and they had no real response. as the saying goes "the forwards win games the backs just determine how much" when our pack plays well there are few who could handle em in SL.

dont know what the penalty count was but thaler wasnt half as keen a any ref weve had so far.

At risk of contradicting myself, I don't think that the Quins were poor today. They never gave up trying. It's just that we didn't allow them to play. Hence they appeared to be poor - and were. [Hence the contradiction!]

We didn't have a weak link out there today. Everyone has had a mention already - and I agree with them all.

I'll just mention 3.

The player of the season so far, Mason. Boy, has his appetite for work grown under Brown. Not as skillful as Eorl, not as big as Griff, not the pumping legs of Jacko, just sheer go forward. And no silly penalties today.

Eorl is going to have a magnificent season culminating in international honours.

Leroy saved 2 certain tries - one by catching the ball with 2 Quins players around him. Excellent cover for Aspers.

Well done the team.

We were garbage - but for some reason we always are at the Galpharm. Hopefully our normal home service against you guys will resume in 2 weeks time.

Didn't gat an answer when I asked Radford how much he paid Stokes to save his job.

Durham Giant wrote:Really wierd today because as a team i did not think we played that well today. I think we were better against Saints but got nothing.

So many of our tries were indavidual flair Brown, Lunt, Robbo or charged down kicks Wild or mistakes by Quins.

Quins were so poor it was unbelievable thay were as bad as we were against Hull. Lots of unforced errors.

We shut down their playmakers and they seemed to have no plan B. Very similar to what we did against Catalans. Big raps to Nathan Brown he knows how to pick a team and how to change things depending on the opposition.

Mason was superb today i do not know what Brown is telling him but it is working. jacko as solid as ever but Griffin and Eorl were tremendous although Eorl looked quite unfit after his lay off.

some brilliant cameos today some of the defence by Cudjoe was excellent and the running at half back was excellent. Moore had a good game but i do not want to sound boring here but Brett Hodgson is a different class. His positioning is second to none and defensively he was excellent today.

I know it is early BUT Brett Hodgson is the best player i have seen in a C&G shirt since i started watching in 1977. I cannot remember anyone who just oozes that skill level, awareness and class that he does.

I am sorry but am gonna disagree on this one.

Thought today the team were awesome, doubling/trebeling up in defence, always looking for offloads and backing up, thought 1 thru to 17 did a tremendous job today.

Quins were poor but the reason they were poor was because they were up against a top class defence today, We were constantly in their faces, hence the number of dropped balls and errors they made.

Lets give the team 100% praise as they sure deserve it on todays performance, the forwards workrate was outstanding and the backs created tons today.

Well done the Giants!! :D :D :D

If i was to marry, i dont know if i ought to, if i would, if i should , i'd marry a Prop's daughter, she'd go down, i'd go down, we'd all go down together, we'd be alright in the middle of the night going down together!!

Defensively we were superb, the forwards played the best as a group as they have all season but in attack a lot of our tries came from indavidual brilliance, luck or mistakes by quins. I did not see many great flowing moves as in passing the ball right across the park like we did against saints ( but could not score).

My post was not a criticism just an acceptance that if we had really clicked today we could have got a lot more points. Some of that was down to the wind. That suggests to me we still have a lot more to come attack wise as we still seem to have more room for improvement. This is boding well for the rest of the season

We dropped the ball a heck of a lot less to DG.

And I think at times we did go wide, just there wasnt a need to since most of the time we were punching holes through their centre, the opposition dictates how you play as much when they are poor as when they are good.

To be fair the wind was hardly condusive to throwing long passes out wide. It was a day for quick, short passes and men on the shoulder of the man with the ball.

Brett Hodgson's try from Crabtree's pass being the perfect example. What a cracking try that was.

Anyone else notice how we played into the wind both halves?

Also someone close by me was calling Brett for missing the first goal - "He's not a goal kicker". Priceless.
