Everyone was absolutely stunned. That a young man should lose his life is heart wrenching. We were due to stay in Cardiff tonight and go out on the ale, but just couldn't after that news. Went back to the hotel where we had only checked in at 2-30 and checked back out again and came home.
Have realised tonight that in the grand scheme of things, Rugby League doesn't matter. God Bless, Leon
Absolutely, show's how much we all tend to worry about the little things in life and then a trdagedy like this unfolds as quick as a lighting bolt to forever change this family's life.
My deepest condolences to Leons family at this time of unbearable greif for them.
Our deepest sympathies to all
The Demetriou family.

i didnt know Leon but I Respect every single player who plays the greatest game. for now it does not matter if its a wakey player, and im a wakey fan through and through, what matters is the respect of the RL community, and i hope Leons family and friends can see that here.
RIP LEON AND BEST WISHES TO YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS IN THIS IMPOSSIBLE TIME
and thanks for playing the greatest, hardest, no steps back, no hiding place, game.
Well said, my thoughts exactly. To have a young lad go out and play the greatest game and not come back is a real tragedy. I cant begin to imagine what his parents and the players in that game are going through.
