I feel so upset about this, this game to me is such a close sport in terms of fans, players, clubs etc (I know sometimes its not shown on the boards, but ive seen it in St Helens this weekend) and for somebody to lose their life playing it is so heartbreaking
My heart goes out to the Family and to everyone connected to Wakefield Trinity Wildcats, a horrible last 6 months for the club
Not stupid at all i knew at 7.00 someone had died and didnt know which club, im a wakey fan through and through but it gutted me at that point not the official confirmation it was one of ours.
Its not only the greatest game but the greatest sport community.

Feel this debate is best left for now until funeral arrangements etc are finalised.
Until then it's best to reflect on a tragic time and feel for his family, team mates, everyone associated with the Wildcats and also those Celtic Crusaders players who were playing against him at the time.

I feel exactly the same. I've got two sons and love them so much. What a tragedy.

In total shock at what has happened to the young Leon Walker, At round about the same age myself it puts things into perspective...
R.I.P
A great loss not only to his family and friends but to the Rugby League community as a whole...
May his family and friends and all at Wakefield feel the warmth and comfort of the Rugby League Family's collective arm around their shoulders at this awful time.
RIP Leon.
He who controls the present, controls the past. He who controls the past, controls the future.

Same here. And they both play. I can't imagine what his mum and dad are going through.

I kept the faith and I kept voting Not for the iron fist but for the helping hand For theirs is a land with a wall around it And mine is a faith in my fellow man Theirs is a land of hope and glory Mine is the green field and the factory floor Theirs are the skies all dark with bombers And mine is the peace we knew Between the wars
as fans we sometimes forget, every single time a player takes the ball in as we want them to, hard and fast, theres a danger, every single time from every single player, from junior to international.
i didnt know Leon but I Respect every single player who plays the greatest game. for now it does not matter if its a wakey player, and im a wakey fan through and through, what matters is the respect of the RL community, and i hope Leons family and friends can see that here.
RIP LEON AND BEST WISHES TO YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS IN THIS IMPOSSIBLE TIME
and thanks for playing the greatest, hardest, no steps back, no hiding place, game.
