Just a quick comparison:
Jane Tomlinson. Ordinary wife and mother, received 2nd rate initial treatment due to postcode lottery of cancer drugs. Raised millions of pounds for charity(and continues to do so). Largely ignored by the national media, certainly outside the Yorkshire editions, when highlighting the story would have raised more money for cancer care. Died privately with dignity.
Jade Goody. Famous for being offensively ignorant, offensively racist or just offensive. Best treatment money could buy, very wealthy. Has used her illness to feather her own nest and been on the front page of almost every paper and magazine for months (might I add, the same publications that are now treating her as the new Diana, were calling for her to be burnt at the stake a year or so ago !) Turned her illness and death into a circus.
Do not get me wrong, I am sorry a young Mum died, but have found the whole"Jade`s Dying" coverage very offensive.
Is she going to be the first person who`s biggest claim to fame is dying ?
They are two different people with two different approaches to life. Although I agree with the approach Jane Tomlinson made to it Jade was never going to do that - she had spent her whole adult life manipulating the press and making the most of the celeb culture of this country to her benefit so anyone expecting anything different from her when she became ill was probably expecting a lot!
No matter what you think of her, or her approach to the illness though it does change the tragic fact that 2 more young children have now been left without a mother and hopefully they, and the rest of her family and friends, are left to grieve in peace and this media circus can come to an end.

She has left her children with the worst possible legacy. Imagine as they grow up, and how they will learn about their mother. No amount of money will compensate for that - I hope they manage to grow up without being totally fecked up by all this, but I doubt it. If Jade was really, really thinking about her kids then the best thing to do would have been to show some dignity and leave them with something they could be proud of.
Shame on Max Clifford also. I've never held the popular opinion of him (that he was a total *******). But he has given poor advice here.
I do feel for the children, but Jade's self obsession and need to be in the media has hurt them and will continue to hurt them for the rest of their lives.

I fully agree with you, the best thing for her children would have been (in my opinion) for her to spend as much time as possible with them and giving them good life long memories of their mother rather than growing up safe in the knowledge that their mother would ell her own death in her search for publicity and money.
