The RU is a far worse product to watch and the club games get similar attendances to us, but the international game is huge. If rugby league had a 5 nations (england, ireland, scotland, wales and france) instead of the tri nations I think it would gain more interest. Our product is a miles better game for the spectator, but without a decent international setup it has no national profile.
It may be radical to drop the trinations, but i think if we want to move forward and not stagnate, an annual 5 nations would help expand the game in ireland, wales, scotland and france.

The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

Does the original poster not realise we've already dropped the Tri-Nations?!

Not really, given that there's no such competition planned for the foreseeable future.

Doubt everything, even this

I'm sure we would instantly have tens of thousands of fans travelling from France,Ireland,Scotland and Wales to watch the matches like they have in union

Lets face it we struggle to motivate ourselves to travel more than 50 miles to watch an international against the aussies

Please try engaging the brain before pushing the buttons

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

Bit harsh starbug but your essentially right.

The reason we don't have a 5 nations is because we wouldn't have a viable 5 nations. England would win it every year and the other teams would be filled with players from England and Australia. Last time we did anything similar we had England A and they had no troubles winning it.

The 4 nations is the best solution we have at present.

Its just because of jealousy from the 6 nations. In an ideal world we would have a viable competition like that but we don't and we can't vanish one from thin air.

Nobody would bother watching it, nobody cares about international league.

When Australia played their World Cup semi final in Sydney, they only got a crowd of 15000 odd, and Sydney is supposed to be the number one city for RL in the world.

As if the Irish or Welsh would give two hoots about watching their band of English/Aussies playing against another band of English/Aussies players in another 'home nations' team.
