We'll see.

You have faith your team wont totally capitulate in the 2nd half of this season like last year?

Is that better than capitulating in 2004, 2006, 2008, bottom every year, and remember Cardiff hows that for a team that knows how to capitulate - you have to laugh at the blinkers. Get a grip man you have won a few games and the old Cas arrogance and dellusions of grandure returns. There is nothing special at Cas and to be honest I was trying to be nice when comparing you to us and Hudds, I don't actually think you are quite as strong to be honest - one man team in Sherwin. Five games in and you're believing you're own bullsh*t.

Still we'll see, and as we have been seeing since 2004 there will only be one winner, as last year 3-1 wasn't it - short memories you lot.

1 point or not a win is a win. So Congrats.

What's there secret this year ? in recent years they were struggling, not anymore It seems . Oh that's right, they probably signed some Manly players no wonder why they're going so well.

It's more to do with them being on equal footing this tine round. They were not promoted until mid October, when most players had already signed up for the following season. They were granted a franchise on the same day as the other teams and have had the same chance to build a squad.

No doubt salford and celtic will struggle initially, but given time like Catalan and Castleford they will also be able to compete.

At last i think the salary cap is begining to work, it is nice to see teams outside the tradional "big four" challenging for honours.

You have a short memory, Catalan finished below Cas, and it could quite easily have been us in 2006.

Why do you always try and belittle other peoples opinions if they don't agree with yours?

Because it's a forum and it's fan rivalry - are you for real. Me and Vegas go back a long way and we won't give an inch. I'd be alarmed if we did. We may love each other away from RL but when it comes to our teams no quarter given or asked for.

If that's ok with you oh sensitive one

Why are you being so defensive about a straight forward question?

vastman wrote:bottom every year

Not quite, do your homework.

vastman wrote:remember Cardiff

Yes, remember 10th August?

We can all live in the past.

I'm failing to see a relevance between me asking you a question and your reference to blinkers :?

I bet you went a shade of purple when you saw this thread, didn't you?

Just a small point but quite a significant one, it wasn't started by a Cas fan.

vastman wrote: There is nothing special at Cas

Well hopefully you'll get over your Cas obsession very soon, ooh quick better start a thread, Dale Ferguson can eat 3 shredded wheat compared to Westerman who can only manage 2

vastman wrote:I was trying to be nice when comparing you to us and Hudds,

You said we have less chance than Wakey & Hudds and then changed it to a similar chance by the time I replied.

Do you actually have an opinion that you believe in because you've gone from Cas have less chance, to equal chance and now you claim you only said we have equal chance to be nice... is it any wonder you have about as much credibility as am mouldy turd?

vastman wrote:I don't actually think you are quite as strong to be honest - one man team in Sherwin.

Make your mind up

I personally think we're stronger than Wakefield and I duly expect us to give you a good hammering next month and show that not only are we the biggest club in the Wakefield district in terms of fan base but we're also once again the best team on the pitch*

Some of us have been watching RL a lot longer. Would you like me to post the win/loss record from 1980 to present between the 2 clubs?

As you were.

* To decent and fair Wakey fans that was my attempt at Vastman style arrogance and not my true opinion.

Top 8 we only need 7 more wins which is 1 in 3 games so to make the 8 is a realistc taget any more than that is a bunus.
Challange cup run could be on the cards with so many SL clubs drawing each other we must have chance having a run.

I think that we have a chance, but then the league is so competetive now that there are others like Saints, Leeds, Hull FC, Hull KR, Wakey, Wigan, Huddersfield, Quins etc. all have a good chance of the top 4 as well.

Celtic and Salford are simply not competetive enough this year and I don't feel that Warrington or Bradford are good enough either. Catalans also don't really look to be on the pace yet, but I wouldn't rule them out.

If I was to pick a top 8 so far (from what i've seen at this early stage) then it would be (in no particular order) :-

Leeds
Saints
Quins
Cas
Hull FC
Hull KR
Huddersfield
Wakey

We are improving every week and I love the fast flowing style that we are developing. We have some very quick and skillful players to fit that style and i'm sure that we will cut out more of the errors and become slicker, the more we play like that. I also feel that our forward pack is one of the best in the league, which is allowing the likes of Sherwin & Chase, as well as the likes of Goldie, Owen, Shenton & Dixon to work well in attack.

What we mustn't forget is that we are still rebuilding from our recent spells in the National Leagues and this season is the first season where we have been able to recruit properly. We brought around 9 or 10 players in this year and for the first time in ages we have competition for places.

When you bring that amount of new players in it takes time to gell though and personally I feel that we have adapted very quickly indeed.

I do feel we have a good chance of being one of the best sides in this league come the playoffs and i'm just looking forward to every game at the moment as I feel that there's nobody in this league who we can not beat. :)
