Dodgy coach who follows the money and Rowley playing in the seconds I heard.

Good luck Bongsers.

Bongs and Leigh RU doing really very well at a decent level on limited resources right now.

I know I am comparing two different sports at two different levels but, much as it grieves me to say it, the rugby I have seen them play has been a damned sight more attractive than ours, so far! (you know, taboo things like sweeping passing moves, resulting in spectacular tries  )

I have only ever seen one RU match live in my life

British Lions verses Manawatu at Masterton around 1977

It was a belter , the Lions lost , and I had a 90 minute coach ride home as the only ' Pom ' on a coach load of Kiwi's

It put me right off the game

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

those sweeping passing moves could have something to do with non existant tackling

At times, probably. Yet, the further they have progressed in this cup competition, so the standard of the opposition has improved. (as it does in the Challenge Cup, say. For example, will we run in 80+ points at Wakefield, in the next round, as we did against Lokomotiv? Possibly not.) And still, they have managed to play attractive rugby and score good tries.

But hey, why should we want a local team to progress to a national final, and play on the national stage? Not when we can look forward to our team gracing the turf at Wembley, this season, sweeping aside allcomers en route to the final, whilst playing with flair?

Good luck to Tyldesly today. Not been a follower of them at all but good to know they have a chance to represent my town in a final at Twickers.
May have a walk down for a nosey and a pint. :)
