I believe the win at Saints in the 1960 challenge cup first round was one of the clubs most notable victories for the following reasons.
(a) St helens at the time were running away with the league.
(b) They had already beaten us twice in the league.
(c) Gerry Round played for an hour with a shattered jaw.
(d) Harold Poynton skill throughout the match even after his collision with Gerry Round. Memories.!!

I was sat in a pub in Middlesbrough having demanded to get it put on the big screen, Stott kicked the drop and i was dancing round the pub like a man possessed and pished, with the locals wondering what the hell had happened.

Most that remember will say the 79 semi final or Oakwell i was there but other than that the two other highlights for me must be our two away wins in all the years i have followed Trinity

1981 a fine 16 14 win and 2003 when Waisale Sovatabua got our winning try in a 16 10 win

other than that we beat them 23 3 at home the week before the 79 semi and a great game in 77/78 we won 36 23 at home i may be wrong but did Brian Juliff make his debut in that game?
