I would hardly cast aspersions on anyones motives. ATEOTD you can only really judge things on the basis of what you would do.
If it was me i might give them away or altenatively flog them and give the money to adam watene or some charity.
the seller may have no one to give them to, they may not be aware of using the forums as a way of getting info about the tickets out, maybe they are having financial problems and are just trying to scrape a little bit of cash together.
what about people who sell their old shirts on ebay rather than giving them away to make money. Is there a difference
