Happy days. :D

so we're playing two 55 minute halves versus KR then?

that's a bit harsh.

No, before you were complaining about the Sunday starting at 12:30. It is still starting at 12:30. Now you seem to be saying you were not happy with our game starting at 6:30, but you are happy with 7:00. Why? How is that going to make much difference to your day?

Less time for tea and crumpets with Landerson, Moran and Padders?

Union is played by people who close airports after a bit of snow, League is played by people who would go and have a snowball fight with a 747

St Andy's Land wrote:Not long now till you visit our capital. It will be great for us League fans to be able to see SEVEN Super League games without having to go down to England. But to keep you up to date. There is a new tram system (or tram line, as some call it) being put in place in the city. I have not been in the capital recently, but by all accounts, Princes Street, the main street, is something of a building site at present. There is a dispute between the local council and the contractors and, although the street has been closed for a week, no work has been carried out. Although this situation may detract from the appearance of the city, don't let it put you off coming up for a great weekend of Leaague. For those who have never been to Edinburgh, one side of the main street is a large park; Princes Street Gardens. This will be a great gathering point for fans, and where else in the world could you find a beautiful park overlooked by an ancient castle atop a high rock? And although the main street will be closed, there are adequate alternative routes if you are coming by car, although it would be better to come up by train. The main station is right on Princes Street, and from there it is possible to take a train to Haymarket (about five minutes) which is only a few minutes walk from the stadium. It is even possible to walk from Princes Street to Murrayfield in about half an hour (and there are plenty of pubs on the route). If anyone hasn't booked yet and has trouble getting accommodation in Edinburgh, you will be able to get fixed up in Glasgow. There is a fifteen-minute train service to Edinburgh which only takes about 55 minutes and the train passes through Haymarket before reaching Waverley, so if you don't wish to go into the centre of the city you can alight at Haymarket. (Travelling from Glasgow you will see the stadium, which is right beside the railway, just before reaching Haymarket Station). There is going to be a supporters' village in the vast green area around Murrayfield, so everything is set for a fantastic weekend - if only the weather gods smile on us! Tram system construction notwithstanding, it will be a brilliant and colourful event with all the fans wearing their team tops adding even more colour to an already colourful city. Looking forward to seeing Wolves fans together with all the others. It will be a great experience. Welcome!

Thanks for this very comprehensive info.
I have spoken to family who live in Edinburgh. Apparently the traffic situation in the city is chaotic. Advice is to use trains and Haymarket station where possible- it's right next door to Murrayfield. As in any city, parking etc is always tricky, but with the current road restrictions it is even worse. There is of course public transport, ie buses to and from Murrayfield from Princes Street. Basically don't plan to be driving very far within the city.

I understand the the Scottish RFU had lots of advertising at last weeks International - on screen, verbal announcements and pitchside adverts. Well done to them.

Roll on...........

Got a guy in work this week who lives in Edinburgh and he also says the traffic in the Centre is chaotic due to the installation of a tram system.

Heard that the Warrington reserved seating is sold out, mate of mine tried to buy 3 seats for the weekend and they didn't have any left, either that or they didn't have 3 seats near each other.
