I suppose thats true , lower profile means less attention. Sean Ainscough was out on saturday night in Maloney's and I dont think most people even recognised him. The thing is though if you know your going to be a target you need to be smart about it - the aussies just seem to be going backwards in this respect.

A lot of these guys just seem to be a bit daft. They have a few beers and they are big units and they will invariably get into bother if they are hammered out on the town as people will want a shot at them.

The NRL guys are like footballers here, everyone knows who they are, whereas RL guys here can be out in town and not get noticed so much. Just stay in fellas or get drunk in your own house!

Some of the allegations about NRL players are really serious though and RL player or not, those things if true are bang out of order.

My brother in law is an x pro and believe me it is as bad ! THe stories he used to come out with would make you cringe.

The recent salford one is really bad but like somebody else said on here there not worth reading about over here unless its football.

£100 donated to Mike Gregory Fund thanks to Saints winning F#CK ALL !!! thanks JLM23 for paying up.

And for that reason the Aussies want their heads testing. If you know you're a public figure and in the media spotlight, then you should just tone down what you do. I watched the footy show last week and they were talking about the Brett Stewart incident at Manly. Andrew Voss said if he was a player and someone asked him to give up alcohol for the duration of his playing career, is that such a big sacrifice? Of course it isn't. If you know you go a bit loony tunes after a few scoops, don't have a few scoops. We're not talking about alcoholics here we're talking about young lads who like a beer. Just don't do it.

tbh mate , i agree with a lot thats been posted about players making d!cks of themselves in king street, but its always gone on.

years ago i mated with a well known hard man who played for wigan (windys idol  ), and the guy was a lamb off the field.
he stayed in his own locals in ince, but the local nutters who wanted to make a name used to come and hunt him out to have a pop at him.
to his credit after they were goading him, most of the time he would finish his drink and move on to another pub.
unfortunately (for them) some used to jump in with both feet and leave him no choice but to drag em outside and knock the poop out of em.

its always going to happen that if your a well known sportsman, you will always get 1 idiot wanting to make a name after 6 pints too many.
having said that, in some cases it seems some players are too ready to take the bait. :?

You're bob on there. Sure, have a few beers to unwind, but if you become a bother boy after several beers then don't do it! I'd work my wotsits off if I played pro-RL so it's annoying seeing a minority of players trying to chuck it away.

I never get why they just don't focus on their careers and maximise their earnings and then by the age of 33-34 you've got yourself nicely set-up. Then you can do what all ex-RL players do...... buy a pub!
