Drove down there last night on my way home for a look, and there is a very nice stadium sized plot there with a new access road as you say.
I would still have some concerns over traffic coming off the motorway. I know somebody earlier said that it wouldn't be an issue because of the numbers of fans we get but surely one of the reasons we are moving is to increase the numbers that come through the gates.

I’ve been down there a couple of times over recent weeks, there is a very nice plot just prime for a stadium. With regards to traffic issues there are two other ingress & egress points from the site. Dewsbury Road and through the industrial estate to Alverthorpe. Not great but I don’t know how many alternatives are available to the club.
Most new ground I have been to have issues with congested traffic so Wakefield would not be alone;

Also will those sad souls who stood outside the Town Hall last year get priority knowledge? .
I don't know them all personally!

Hey, don't get me wrong I'm not trying to put a downer on things and I would be as delighted as anyone if this was the location. It was just a concern that I thought was worth mentioning.
At least we don't have any NIMBY's to contend with up there.
Bearing in mind that they are talking about developing the land opposite the top of Broadway into a huge housing estate the planners can't be too concerned about traffic on Dewsbury Road anyway.

What makes you think that?
There'd be NIMBYs if the proposed site was the Sahara dessert.

Not suggesting you were. Issues and concerns will arise with all locations and no doubt there will be NIMBY’s where ever something like this is proposed. The people who live nearby may take exception to the potential street parking.
Also do not discount the local lunatic with his over zealous concern for roosting bats.
