Phil,

Thanks for your e mail to Jon of 13th March.

Every year we choose a charity to promote as our charity of the year. For 2009 we chose Children in Need and as a club we will be supporting that organization on many levels. One of the ways in which we chose to help this year was, whilst freezing pass prices and match day prices for the rest of the season, to increase the match day prices for one game and then make a donation from the company based on the additional income from this game. To make the most effect in terms of impact for the charity we decided to choose our biggest game of the year, that being the home derby against Hull KR.

To clarify your point about the donation being voluntary, you are correct donations are voluntary, the donation that Hull FC are making as a company to Children in Need is voluntary. The extra £1 that is being added to match day ticket prices for that game is not voluntary, that is the price of entry to the ground for that game and only you can decide if you think that that is a fair price to pay.

Thanks for your e mail Phil, I hope I have answered your question, I also hope you decide to attend the derby for what promises to be a great day in this years fixture list.

Regards,

Antony Sutton

The wording in the first paragraph indicates they are not necassarily putting all the extra £1's they charge into the charity.

With regards to the highlighted bit, thats why I can't see what all the fuss is about. That's the price of the ticket, if you don't want to pay it - DON'T. Get over it and move on.

Exactly how do you derive that?

Based on could mean 1% or 100%, they could say all of it and make it clear.

the gesture from hull would have not created this much crap if the ticket prices remained the same, and the donation was still made. the way it has been forced upon people is very clever, giving the club a good name whilst not actually digging into their own pockets. at the end of the day its a quid, i've paid it but i don't agree with it! :P

No problem at all, i think its a worthwhile cause and makes sense to charge the extra on the biggest game of the season, just hope all the extra goes where its suppose to.

The point is FC have said from the start that the extra £1 is going to charity. If you don't WANT to pay it then don't.

Lets be realistic for a change on this board. It's £21 to sit in a covered stadium with first class facilities (albeit a football stadium!!). It's also £20 to sit in an uncovered temporary 'golf' stand which leaves a lot to be desired. AND in this case, that extra £1 actually goes to charity and not the club.

Sorry, but anyone who complains is just a bit sad and/or stupid IMO.
