I'm bringing a colleague along to his first live match (yes Lefty, he is fairly posh). Nice lunch and a couple of pints followed by 80 minutes of Wire's first win of the season.

I often hear it as part of ticket touts' vocabulary.
One was on the phone to his 'associate' once and said, I quote, "Dolly for a nodder. You got any ching?"

Which was translated for me as (I think) "Ticket for a customer. Would you happen to have any change?"

No doubt someone else on this board is 'in the know' on ticket tout jargon and will prove me wrong.

Whilst Nodder is, indeed, a fine term, I've always been a fan of Rubber Johnny, Joey Bag or plain old-fashioned Sheath.
