I didn't think the booing was that bad - I've heard a lot worse over the years and that said if someone wants to boo they can do IMO
Sometimes the displeasure needs to be communicated - if the people feel that way
Maybe the club could help the boo ers and record it and play it over the speakers like the northern chant?
But that's different - that's professional booing, and its no more than is expected of a true Bulls fan!
And yes, for the avoidance of doubt - if someone wants to boo - or stay away - they are quite entitled to same way as if someone wants to cheer or be a club sycophant. And, as someone said earlier, you really only boo your own lot out of intense frustration and passion. Whether its counterproductive is a separate argument.
On the subject - 1998 - remember? After winning the title in 1997 we were not having a good season at all. I remember after we were beaten at home by - it was one of the so-called "lesser" clubs ( think Sheffield?) the team came over to the stand, led by Sir James who was clapping the fans. Many of whom responded by booing. You could see he was visibly upset, and ended up just throwing a dismissive wave at the fans and walked away. I didn't boo but I sure felt like it, I'll admit cos I was as gutted as everyone else.
The thing was, transpired that as well as the numerous bad injuries we were aware of there were loads of players carrying injuries who should not have been playing. But when you had (IIRC) three cruciate cases sat in the stand for a start there was little choice. Of course the fans did not know this. But I know it annoyed and upset the likes of Jimmy who were trying their best even if it may not have looked that way. And was counterproductive.
Now I'm not drawing any parallels at all here, and guess it will be a while before we get to know whats really the cause of the current poor form, but I do think its worth making the point that there may be factors of which we are not aware contributing to the present mediocrity. (At least I HOPE there are...!)
