No it can't.
If the game is crap then it is crap irrelevant of any singing or atmosphere. Vice versa if it is good then it is good.
It doesn't make the game more entertaining. Try watching a game on the TV with no sound on. It is exactly the same game.
Frankly, i'm not against singing and i do like to sing some of the better songs but the harping on about it all the time is tiresome. If you want to sing then sing*.
