The americans are never interested in sports where they aren't one of the best in the world playing it.That's why football will never catch on over there.That's also why Nascar is the big motorsport in the US and not F1 like the rest of the world.

If properly trained, in 5 to 10 Years time i believe america could produce some real talented rugby athletes. Just what the sport needs.

the number of university american football players who don't make it is incredible.

i think rugby league would suit americans. The speed and intensity is what they crave, it as has been mentioned might need a 30 second break every so often for tv, but that could easily be put in at a penalty or scrum or even turnover.
