The americans are never interested in sports where they aren't one of the best in the world playing it.That's why football will never catch on over there.That's also why Nascar is the big motorsport in the US and not F1 like the rest of the world.

i think rugby league would suit americans. The speed and intensity is what they crave, it as has been mentioned might need a 30 second break every so often for tv, but that could easily be put in at a penalty or scrum or even turnover.
