We have spoken to Widnes who have given us estimates of the travelling support - also Sky vehicles etc will be using the car park by the turnstiles for the North Stand therefore access will not be available to the public.

However we will be opening the North Stand for the non televised Widnes cup game on Friday 3rd April and also the multi storey car park behind that stand.

Wonder how Widnes know just how many would come over on a Thursday as opposed to a Friday? Is it because most of their fans have sky & cant be arsed coming over?

fwiw, i'd imagine that there would be enough of them coming over to open up the North Stand on Thursday

wasnt the play off match last season on sky or am i mistaken.

although i can see why they need to put the sky people in the entrance to the north stand as the car park for the south stand seems to get smaller every time i go down there for a game.

No they all cancelled it when the franchise decisions were announced, They refuse to drink Irn Bru now and won't buy those new Super League Pies in Morrisons.

Nobody better be leaning on my railing on Thursday or else  Is going to be very cramped in South Stand might actually get some crowd entusiasm towards my end for a change.

That happens all the time at Old Trafford whereby they close the Stretford End so Sky can park their vans

Usually the Sky vans go in the main car park, but as over half of it is shut they have to be parked elsewhere. I think a bit of disruption as the East Stand is finished is inevitable isnt it?

I would have thought in terms of crowd numbers there will be by far more people at the shay for the league match than the cup match. The CC matches seem to be a massive turn off for all clubs these days. If the North Stand is not really required for the league match, I don't see the point in opening it for the cup match.
