Next season
6- Lockyer
7- Tomkins/Leuluai
9- Riddell/Leuluai

Although Lockyer would be a quality signing - after all he is arguably the worlds best - I honestly don't think for all the money he will command, and the length of service he will give (albeit it may be quality service) we should be looking to sign him.

Wigan need a stable half-back partnership, I fully accept some partnerships do not work and need changing ie. Smith + Tommy. However, IMO we should be looking at other options, I can't think of an example of the top of my head but A.N. Other should be a long-term signing and not just a 2-year project and then the half-backs have a re-shuffle.

If you need any evidence of the success of this, look at Leeds and Saints half-back partenerships.

Agreed Pryce desrves his chance before we sign a player un-necessarily and thus push him further down the pecking order. I want to see KP playing first team and being a dominant force which his size and speed commands.

As for RM swap for Bailey - not something I'd do, but that's just my opinion.

Would be a briliant signing, just the sort of player we need. Hes very very under rated IMO.

Definatly short term answers aren't the way forward or beneficial. Let get Sam a long term HB partner and watch them go.

The only problem tho is there aren’t any British SH’s out there are there who are good enough for what we need? Danny Brough is probably top of the pile but is he really that good? So I guess we will have to look overseas and the problem there is you hardly get any continuity as they don’t tend to stay for extended lengths of time which is what we need. Dobson still seems like the best option out there as he ticks all the boxes and is IMO a step up from Tommy at HB.

Who realistically else can we get? Serious question for those that say Dobbo isn’t good enough? Are Orford or Lockyer the answer then?

Now he is someone we should be looking to bring to Wigan. A regular for England in the future IMO.

Great at fullback, centre and wing.

Why would Lee Smith want to move from the best team in the competition to Wigan?

Id be happy with this signing at the right price as the current pack is not strong or aggressive enough at present.

However i really think we need somebody of this calibre this season as opposed to next and that why it frustrates me that our preperation for this season seems open to criticism after just six matches, particularly as we have players on the sidelines who now seem out of sorts.

Same could be said for Kylie Leuluai.
