SL sides tend to have a ball player & a runner in the halves, the succesful sides do anyhow. He's the latter primarily, but folk can improve y'know. Danny McGuire is now far better with ball in hand, but perhaps less of a threat as a runner than he was when he burst onto the scene, peoples games develop in different ways.
Myler is playing week in week out, and that's what he obviously feels is the best thing for his development. He left Widnes, played 30 games last year, and had he not broke his hand, would have played 30 top flight games this year, no doubt he's learning all the time. The next step for him, may be to move to a 'bigger' side, and improve his game and take it to the next level.
Smith picked him for England, he's normally a decent judge of a player.
