I know this sounds like petty semantics, but you do realise that there is a difference between the terms immigrant and asylum seeker?

As a Leyther, you’re one of us the moment you come here to wear the shirt. I don't care where you were born, what colour you are, what religion you are, what language you speak. You're one of us, part of our culture, writing our history as you create your own, and making us stronger for it....

Listen, I know someone who's father unfortunatly passed away but he was the carer for his wife and this persons mother. She lived a good distance away from any immediate family and was looking for support to due to the circumstances.

What did they as a family get offered after many meetings?

SWEET FA!!

Both herself and her husband had worked all their life, paid their dues and in her hour of need all the social services were after was her money and her house to secure her a place in a care home, not ensuring that in the immediate future she got the assistance she so badly needed.

The more you have, the more you pay and the less you get back from this Goverment.

Its a f00king joke

Why should someone who has worked all their life and paid everything that has been asked be forced to give up what they have to gain some support when it is most needed. Yet some of these jokers who come over here get everything they need and then some to the point that they need not work, some also decide to become professional babymaking machines such is the lucrative nature of that particular profession!!!

At times you can be a second class citizen in this country if your born and bred here.

I had the pleasure of visiting Tottenham recently with 3 business colleagues and all 4 of us said the same...............are we in the UK or are we in another country because we felt so out of place.

Rant over.

I,m sorry to sound like a soft touch but an Asylum seeker and an immigrant are not the same thing.

Aren,t asylum seekers held in detention centres until their cases are looked into ? I honestly think they are but there are people no doubt who do and will abscond. In the scheme of things those allowances would hardly go far enough for anyone to live the life of Reilly.

Can you imagine living in a country with an undemocratic government, usually based on a belief in a mythical being, with no hope and living in fear for whatever reason every day of your life.

No wonder they want asylum. I realise this is rather simplistic and some do tell lies but we are not the only country that accepts asylum seakers.

At the end of the day we are bound to get some false asylum seekers and some lazy no account immigrants. Its the price we pay for being a civilised democratic country.

Where would you rather live here or in Africa for eg ?

Altruism, as a nation, will pay dividends. Over to those who disagree.

People are not grasping this - the only people who get any sort of special treatment are asylum seekers, and they have to meet some very stringent criteria to get the help they deserve.

Every other problem is one that is much a problem amongst white British as it is amongst those from other countries. Those issues need dealing with, but the solutions will affect all and not just the foreign.

Don't let xenophobia cloud your judgement. This country has a lot of problems, but very few of those problems are caused by immigrants.

GRASP THIS...........................

Walk round Leigh Town centre anyday of the week with your EYES OPEN.

Seriously just take the time to do it, collect your thoughts on what you see, stand outside the general post office and again collect your thoughts on what you see..........................then the final frontier!!

Spend 30 minutes (If you can stand it) in ANY town centre bookmakers and the penny will drop.

If you get the chance catch up with our MP and ask him his thoughts, he'll tell you they all work nights or have rich families in their native land transfering money on a regular basis in to their TSB accounts!!

If you're nitpicking the diffeerence between the two then yes, there is considerable difference. The point came about that people claiming asylum do actually have more rights (granted a very tiny amount) because they have something me and thee cannot claim. It was in fairness petty, but a fact none the same.

Anyway, I've not heard many people whinging about the bigger issue say 'I dont mind him, he's an immigrant, but I dont like him becuase he's claiming asylum'.

Much of a muchness in the bigger issue, like I said.

You wanna try living in my house then next door to a bunch of wasters with no jobs who don't speak a word of the Queen's and don't care how much noise they make any day or night of the week.

None of them work and they must be claiming every benefit under the sun. It's an absolute disgrace. I've nothing against anyone who wants to come here and add something to the country and fit in but people like this want throwing back on the boat.

..... and I'll be standing in the Hilton Park stand, yes that's right I've named the North Stand myself
