I understand the sentiment of this post but it wouldn't work. The team would loose heavilly and all that skill, team spirit and pride would disappear in a depression of lost confidence.
If the answer was just to change the whole team then why would we need a coach? Why were we so sure that Lowes (and before that Cullen) were not up to the job and that we needed a change.
Tony Smith has been brought in to do a job and this will take time. Team spirit is built up on and off the park. It 's his job to identify what the real issues are, put plans in place to correct it and then ensure that they are followed. The plans may involve dropping players, instilling discipline, geeing players up, changing tactics, selling players or bringing in new backroom staff.
Whatever he does he is not a magician and it will take time. I'm gutted at the position we've found ourselves in but I think it has been building for quite a while and to expect it to be righted over night is just silly. I do want it to be sorted now, but it won't be.
As fans we've got what we wanted, an experienced coach with a reputation as a disciplinarian. Lets give him some time to work at the problems and to get them sorted.
Luckily with the franchise system we can't be relegated but each hammering hurts and we all hate it. We hate being laughed at as the moneybags underachievers, but at the moment that's what we are. We'll have to grin and bear it. Watch or don't watch the choice is down to each individual fan and I don't think any can be criticised on how they choose to react to it.
One things for sure though even if you don't go you'll still care and eventually you'll come back! Once a Wire always a Wire.
