So the current mess has nothing to do with Lindsey, i am sure he went around buying all the best players in both codes for Wigan and then they had to sell them and the ground because they could not cope with his RBS and HSBO style of running an account. In 1995 they were the best team and had a ground, now poor team and no ground. But this decline should be a lesson for Leeds which i believe GH already does.

It is no news that Lindsay knew that Wigan were bankrupted and brought in the salary cap in his tenure at the RFL so that they could compete. Your dominance in the 80's was based on an incompetent financial model which prostituted your club. You are now dealing with the fallout. If the franchise criteria had any substance you should have been thrown out for cheating the cap, not having your own ground & causing the relegation of Castleford by blatant cheating.

I would rather have the memory of Ellery's break towards us in 1994 and Sinfield's kick at Huddersfield weighed against ten years of Wigan dominance. But maybe that's just me.
