I'd like to see a few of these turn out for the reserves for a while to tell you the truth, not just for a week like, for a few weeks, like Penny has been doing for his 'crimes'. I think Monaghan, Briers et al should be shown up, the real slackers, Rauhihi is another who for me doesn't pull his considerable weight.
I think a chap said it on another thread, ask them directly do you want to play for this club ? If no, turn out at Wilderspool, every Saturday, in front of 100 people, and know that your facing the prospect of doing this for two & a half years if needs be, if the money means that much to you, then good on you, if you can afford a drop, instruct your agent to get you an NRL club asap, and we'll call it quits for the money you've stolen so far.
If the players think they can take on Smith, they are wrong, they are wrong for a start because I think we've all had enough of them, collectively we've had a gutful of them. We've shifted the blame everywhere, Cullen, Lowes, Moran, it's the players, they don't work hard enough & they don't want it, and if I had to choose, I'd back Smith tomorrow, if he wanted to get rid of all 25 of them, play the reserves until the end of the season, and bring in people that he trusts to work hard for our club, I'd back him 100%, the players need to realise, the fans are speaking now, they can't hide anywhere, the blame is firmly being places at their feet, and should Smith want to weed out 1,2,5,10 whatever, the fans will back him.

King overall is a big disappointment, and is clearly not the player that his Aussie rep would have had us all believe. He is, at best, a fairly ordinary centre/winger who works hard and tries in defence but has none of the essential magic that makes a great player. That said, he was one of our better performers today - nearly all Quins tries came on Gleeson's side of the field. Monaghan looked OK until he went off injured: it was after he left the field that we lost all direction, although our defense was poor from minute one again.
Tony Smith has a lot of work to do. It would not surprise me if we had less than half of this squad on our books by the time 2009 comes to an end. Given that there's no relegation, playing ten or twelve of the reserves next week in the starting seventeen might send the right message to Briers and co. As for the Andersons, what a total let down of two more supposed internationals, who obviously have the talent but don't seem to want to turn it on for the Wire.

Just got back after the 420 mile round trip, cold and fed up. A 12 hour trip which has aged me about 5 years.
No-one was expecting miracles after a week, but my God.......he's got his work cut out there. I watched the majority of the second half through my fingers, terrible 'performance.'

If they have to rebuild this team YET again, it will be the end of this club as anything like a credible force in SL. It will wither and die; the process has already started.

warrington will never die, if you rebuild then the fans will come back or never go away if kept informed, it could take smith 3 to 5 year to sort the mess out but stick with him and he will.
WAKEFIELD FANS ARE BORN, NOT MANUFACTURED.WE DO NOT CHOOSE, WE ARE CHOSEN. THOSE WHO UNDERSTAND NEED NO EXPLANATION. THOSE WHO DONT, DONT MATTER.
