Aah, so now I know why Jimmy Carr is about as funny as a dose of syphilis.
Thanks for clearing that up.
i was being sarcastic about Bob Monkhouse, he was a legend
hmm yer true, i guess he isn't as funny as the warrington club now that is comedy gold

an opinion from a wakey fan and im trying to be constructive as i get no joy in your plight as i know ive had some great times when we ended up in the wrong end at warrington!
in my opinion the signing of stars as a quick fix never works unless the charecter of the star is the right one, we at wakey took ray price at 36 years ago and everyone laughed themselves wet at us, but his charecter was such that he was a positive contribution the club , then and for several years afterwards, including storming in to the dressing room when we were 18 nil down at wilderspool 2 years after he left and bollocking the forwards!
in short, take either young fringe nrl players or dont just buy on reputation, buy on character. DO THESE PEOPLE EVER GET INTERVIEWED?
er and we have 6 half backs injured but dont give lee b belle vue's phone number

I don't like to admit it but Briers might well be finished. I hate to admit in fact, it turns my stomach just thinking about it but based on the evidence from previous matches and at times during the match today, the little kicks or moves he tried just didn't work. It was just Pitiful and it hurt me as fan of his to see him struggle so much.
A hell of a lot of it is to do with the current confidence of the team. I hope TS can get a positive reaction out of him soon whether that involves dropping him or giving him a good telling off, because he is such a talented player on his day and it's so disappointing to see him struggle when he has been such a great servant to the club.
I could see his was disappointed with himself when he was substituted halfway through the second half and for those 5 minutes he was on the bench he had his head in has hands. He came off the bench, tried but it came to no avail.
Who knows what the future hold for him, I hope he does get the magic back soon along with the rest of the team but I fear for him being here next year I really do.

Has he truly been awful ALL year???
Didn't see any highlights last week but you ran Leeds close, did he have any part in that whatsoever?
Or is it more a kind of Lampard / Gerrard scenario in the sense that the player isn't problem it is the fact he can't operate with the players around him? Some actually proven to be world class (ok 1 or 2 )
Do you drop Briers straight away or change your halfback partnership and see if he shines, plus if anyone gets the best from his players surely Tony Smith does ?
