Good luck to the lad, its disappointing to see him go on one first team performance when tbh he did look a bit too small.
But that was just his first game and given more game time who knows???

We seem to be talking a lot about having a "big squad" this year, but in my opinion we don't really compatred to other Championship clubs.
With Graham departing we now only have 22 players at the club. This gives us a team with 5 reserves. If we were to get a couple of injuries, we would be very low indeed on numbers, and cutting it close to having a fully fit team.
Again, this is probably linked in with the fact that we don't have a reserve side, but really we could do with a few more heads to be safe. However, the 22 players we do have are all quality players, and I would be confident that any combination of 17 could do the job for us. I just feel we could do with one or two "Pay as you play" backup players that could fill a gap if needed.
Other Championship clubs have 30+ players, maybe not as good as ours but they have the numbers if needed.
Thoughts. . .
On the other hand, sad to see Graham go, looked promising, but best of luck with his future endeavours!

Just goes to show the important role the fans play.
We do not have a large squad and we do not have a reserve team- which I feel will effect us later in the year. I hope next year we have a reserve team if nothing but to keep our fringe players and have some local players involved like Chinny. Siddal is full of ex academy players and they nearly beat Swinton!
I feel we need to offer local players the chance to play in the reserves as there are some good players in the Pennine League and National Conference who for whatever reason not gone Pro as well as other former SL academy players who have not been kept on at Leeds, Wigan, Saints etc alongside the fringe players. It may not be the best comp but we need to have them playing.
Do we have cover if for instance, Watene, Wilson, Larder, Goddard, Penky and Haley are injured and James is back at Bradford? For me no. And I fell we will suffer because of this

See my earlier post
On that note, look how well Scott Law is doing for Cougars at the moment, picked along side Frank in this months RLW team of the month. Young talent will also benefit us when applying for Super League.
